SINOPSIS : (ENGLISH)

MY MOTHER

Agus (8th) and Dimas (8th) both of them do not know each other, but they meet up in front of a store and opens their eyes to the fact that their future is being sold by their parents. Agus felt his life was not as lucky as Dimas who always get what he wants but on the contrary Dimas jealous of agus which he thinks can be free to do what is desired.

It begin with Agus who always dreamed to become famous through talent search on TV, but he did not know what talent he could use. One day Agus told his mother to beg for change on the street. Before leave the house, he have some breakfast at home, although his mother provided food for her but she never enjoyed the food calmly, his mother always scolded him about the little things. That was happening almost every day, her mother grumbling, her stepfather slept soundly after a hangover. After finished eating Agus walked to the highway to where he usually begs. He always passes the same path every day, and always runs when he sees thugs who bully him almost every day. Every morning he walks, he always stops at two places: a food stall where he waits for the leftovers and where he is watching TV and sees people whose lives are far more fortunate than him, and a cafe where he can hear melodious songs as his heartbeat, before he was expelled cafe owner. when he arrived infront of the clothing store where he always begs, he pulled out a piece of newspaper paper, and put one foot into the sewer hole right in front of the shop, so he looked crippled, so he would get a lot of sympathy.

The meeting then begins with Dimas who just came out of a clothing store with some bags in his hand as he went out with his mother, he saw Agus who is sitting under a street lamp with his only one leg while begging to everyone passing by. Dimas approaches Agus who at that moment extends his hand to Dimas and hopes to give him the money. but Dimas did not give him any money, but he offered a blue-collar suit that belonged to Dimas he just bought from the store with a single request that confused him. Dimas hopes, if he gives Agus the shirt then Agus will tell the story of his life to Dimas. Agus was surprised by Dimas’s request. Agus who never has a new clothes or clean clothes also asked why Dimas wanted the story of his life is very unlucky. Agus also had time to look at Dimas’s mother who had been accompanying him, he was confused to see the big smile contained at Dimas’s mother.

Without further thought, Agus finally tells the story began since he began to feel the world. When he was 4 years old he did not go to school like a child at his age, his parents forced him to beg in the street because at that age more people would pity and always give him a lot of money. but in fact the money he never enjoyed directly, he was only fed and a provide a place to sleep by his parents, he never knew about the money he had earned on the street. Until now his life has never changed, he is still a beggar, he knows only one that is increasingly aged means that his income as a beggar will be reduced.

Time passed, from morning till afternoon he only got a few coins and a shirt he did not know or care about the price, which he knew the shirt was just clean and smelled typical of a store with a price tag still hanging. He is also explained why his legs were only one, he says that his father was a drunkard, and every night beat his legs so swollen and had to be amputated. Agus also tells of his desire to become rich, eat and drink freely, and he always dreamed of give his mother a car, because almost every day he saw cars on the road driven by rich people. she hopes her mother can be like that. Agus tells all his stories with sadness so often he shed tears. Dimas quietly heard Agus story. After Agus finished tell his story, Dimas then gave the shirt he had promised and rushed off while saying thank you and jump into his car. Before leaving Dimas’s mother gave Agus an extra money of 50 thousand as a sympathy for Agus’s story. Agus looks at Dimas who walks away from him, then climbs into a car and imagines when he can be like that.

Because it was late afternoon, Agus went home, he stood upright as he folded the newspaper that had become the base of his seat. During the trip home, Agus is burdened by the events of his encounter with Dimas. To the extent that he was not aware had been intercepted by thugs who almost every day to bother him. Roughly the thugs examined Agus’s body for money. they managed to find 50 thousand rupiah money gave by Dimas’s mother in the back of his pocket. They also found the blue shirt of Dimas, but not taken because of its size is too small. Agus finally came home with only a few coins and a piece of clothing.

Arriving home he gave some coins and shirts that Dimas gave to his mother. She is surprised , because he even got a nagging from his mother and considered to hide money or sleeping under the bridge and do not beg for money. The drunken step father was furious, because Agus did not bring money home, so drunk Agus almost beaten the dead if not saved by Toni. Agus ran out and cried. Toni’s voice was loud from the outside when she was hurt by a pack of comrades.

Because his stomach was hungry he ran toward the food stall, hoping he could eat the remains of someone else’s plate. But as he  waited for someone to give him leftovers, he overheard a voice she seemed to know on television. Surprisely he saw Dimas that he met this afternoon, now he is on television. Dimas was singing on a very popular talent search event, the jury seemed quite impressed by Dimas’s very melodious voice, and with his age just 8 years of support continued to flow to him.

At the end of Jury Judging tells of his life when he was 4 years old, he told everybody on television that he used to have a drunken father who always beat his mother. then he was told to beg for money because according to his mother age as little as it will be many people pity and give him much money, since then he aspires to give his mother car so he can take his mother for a walk anywhere. The story of Dimas on television is almost the same as the story Agus gave earlier this afternoon, Dimas only changed a small part, and Dimas’s mother did not look like a poor man, even very well off. Agus realized that Dimas had bought his story with a T-shirt this afternoon, and he also needed Agus’s way of telling it because he had to dramatize his stance. Agus may have realized that he had sold his future by his parents, and only taught one way to survive is begging. While Dimas is also being sold in the future without him knowing it, because he was told to beg by his parents to get support and do anything to get what he wants.

Then Agus thought, if Dimas can use the story to follow the event then he also wanted to try it. With the blue shirt that Dimas had given which he had not even worn yet, visible from his label still attached, he ventured to sign up. During the first judging, Agus sang the song he used to hear in the cafe once with a very melodious, the song tells about the warmth of a mother for a child, so the jury stunned and reached into his handphone, and informed the producer. Agus also passes to the next selection because of the sound and supported the story, he came out the judging room with a smile because he did not have someone to share, when he opened the exit, seen Toni with his menswear to greet him with pride. Agus is very surprised because Toni can be free from tantrums his stepfather. Toni told how she escaped being saved by her own mother. After that meeting they missed her mother and decided to visit her mother, because for them as mean as a mother is still a mother who is a hero in their life.
